Q&A With Elected Asians in Minnesota Politics

AscendNAAMBA is excited to host several Asian elected officials for a panel discussion and Q&A session.  Come out to meet local legislators, hear how you are represented, and learn how your voice can be heard!


We are honored to have the following panelists:

  • Jennifer Carnahan is currently serving as Chair of the Minnesota Republican Party.  She is also the owner of several boutiques, a former marketing executive for multiple Fortune 500 companies, and a past AscendNAAMBA board member.

  • Blong Yang is the first Hmong-American to be elected to the Minneapolis City Council, and is a member of the DFL party.  He is a lawyer who served as an investigator with the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights (MDCR) and previously had his own practice focusing on family law and other civil matters.

  • Michael Arulfo is a delegate at large for the Democratic National Committee, and is running for Bloomington City Council, where he hopes to give a voice to the diverse groups throughout the city.  He has spent 18 years working in corporate America.
